Will You Be My Friend?
“Will you be my friend?” the caterpillar said.
“No,” said the kookaburra in his tree.
“My laugh is the best.
You’re nothing but a pest.
Go away or I’ll eat you for my Tea.”
“Will you be my friend?” the caterpillar said.
“No,” said the the lyre-bird strutting his stuff.
“My tail is very long.
It is colourful and strong.
I am the best he huffed and puffed.”
“Will you be my friend?” the caterpillar said.
“No,” said the platypus in the billabong.
“My bill is sleek.
I am quite unique.
You only squirm all day long”.
So the lonely caterpillar went on his way.
Sad he couldn’t make a friend that day.
A storm brought the rain down from the sky.
Alone and afraid he began to cry.
